AERODYNAMICS

About the Subject:

Aerodynamics is the way air moves around things. The rules of aerodynamics explain how an airplane is able to fly. Anything that moves through air reacts to aerodynamics. A rocket blasting off the launch pad and a kite in the sky react to aerodynamics. Aerodynamics even acts on cars, since air flows around cars.

Topics to be covered in this Seminar:

Low speed flow - Euler equation - incompressible Bernoulli’s equation - Green’s lemma and stroke’s theorem - barotropic flow - kelvin‟s theorem - irrotational flow - elementary flows and their combinations - Two dimensional inciscid incompressible flow - Ideal Flow over a circular cylinder -  real flow over smooth and rough cylinder - Airfoil theory - Cauchy-riemann relations - methodology of conformal transformation - thin airfoil theory - Subsonic wing theory-Vortex filament, biot and savart law - Boundary layer theory- boundary layer growth over a flat plate, critical reynolds number, blasius solution, basics of turbulent flow.
